If you’ve ever been in a business where your upline tells you that all you need is 2, 4 or 5 recruits and that the benefits of the company will allow those people to duplicate like mad, you’ll need to keep reading this post.
Duplication takes place when you have hundreds in your downline before duplication really works. But if your upline tells you that you can become a duplication master just by joining their company and sponsoring 2 people in your business, run away. When you interrupt you can be seen as somebody that is only thinking of yourself. You’ll no longer be using the consultative process and it could keep you from having a win for both of you. You’ll be surprised on how much information you can get after you end the conversation to set up the next call.
3. Don’t be interrupted. All your attention needs to be on your prospect to be effective in listening to your prospects on the phone. Make sure your family knows you’re on a call and you can even put up a “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door. Most people ignore this part but it can definitely make for a long day if you don’t take time to do it.
4. You’ll be surprised on how much you can get somebody to open up when you ask open ended questions. Open ended questions don’t have a yes or no response. But closed ended questions can work sometimes too if it’s a confirmation question. You’ll want to concentrate on open ended questions because they open up communication.
5. We should always pay attention to the prospects needs so we don’t get misinformed. By concentrating on the importance of listening skills we can know everything about a persons target market and what they enjoy doing for a living but if we’re not practicing leadership listening skills we can’t get people the right solution.
If we give prospects and customers the attention they need and ask certain questions we can always have great communication. By never cutting people off we can find the needs of people to improve our lead conversion ratio. Don’t start talking without having a dialog. If you wont even let people speak or if you’re waiting for that first objection because you’ve already memorized the script there won’t be a level of believability. Dialog is very important especially during consultations if you want to ever present the right solution.
Not everybody has credibility in network marketing and the people that have it can loose it by just trying to tell others about the best network marketing opportunity. When you start trying too hard people will already know that as soon as they politely say no you’ll just stop the communication and never talk to them again.
Announce who you are by name and be respectful of their time. If you’re doing a consultation you have to get your legitimate business purpose out in 10 seconds so it has to be pretty quick. Depending on why you’re calling try to make sure you thank them, let them know why you’re calling and offer to answer any questions they might have.
If people know some important things about you they’ll have respect for you and why you’re calling. Having good communication and not sonding like a telemarketer will go a long way. Overcoming sales objections is not a priority right away. Relationships are built in time and people want to talk to a professional that cares about them.
