    Hi Rick!

First of all it is a pleasure to connect with a person like you and to share the same interest and even business. Out of your blog posts I can see we are undergoing the same teaching and having actually a lot in common. Thx for clarifying the profile topic on the social media outlets, which are the first impression people get when start searching you or are redirected to. As said the first impression is the one which stick with people from the beginning and if you are marked the way which is negative to build a thriving business then changes need to be done. Thx for opening our eyes about this vital fact!!!

    All the best,

    Alex

Hi Alexander, Glad to have you stand with me in helping people build something that actually works long term.First impressions are very important and makes this industry enjoyable to work in. It’s the only way to connect with people so they can help their friends and families make the most in this bad economy. Talk soon my friend!

    Rick,
I totally agree that your profile is crucial to your success. If you create just a sales type page, people will immediately turn away. Your blog needs to be a resource, a place for informaiton, good will and optimism. From there, you can add links to your sales page or pages, but certainly not right in anybody’s face.
As far as people not choosing a product but choosing YOU, I actually have chosen any MLM products I have been involved with because of the product, not the person. But given a choice between a few different distributers, then I would choose the one most likely to be supportive and helpful and a good leader.

Hi Rick – definitely lots to think about. Many people have forgotten or maybe never knew the social aspect things! The relationship matters.

  • http://ricksalasblog.com Rick Salas

It sure does Jodi Lee. Unless we use the skills that we are taught we will never be a value to peoples lives. I’t starts with us and not some company. Even though some people think the best company can bring them success it will always be the personal attention we give to peoples concerns. Thanks for your comment!

  • http://ricksalasblog.com Rick Salas

Same for me Erica. I joined my first company because of the product. I’m in a different company now that I found to be more valuable for my health needs but now I have the right mindset and attitude that my team helps me with. I joined somebody that does so much for others and is going to be a big player in the industry by helping others do the same. A good leader always helps for sure if you want to do the business part.

Thank you for this great post Rick. I totally agree with you that people join people, not businesses. I too chose my first MLM based on product, but once I realised that there was no leadership or training within my team I soon took on board the importance of joining a strong team with good leaders who can train you and help you through the difficult times. Leading with your business in Social Media is a big NO.

    Love the post Rick.

It is all about relationships. Show people you care about them.
Pick up the phone and connect!

    Hi Rick,

I totally agree with you that relationships matter most. It’s so important to genuinely care about people – can spot a false friend a mile away!

We all have a unique gift to give and I would certainly love to see more people being themselves instead of what they think they should be! I actually steer clear of profiles that are too highly polished and business like… there’s a nice middle ground somewhere! Professional and personal in one!

  • http://ricksalasblog.com Rick Salas

So true Louise. There are so many that are starting to realize that the more value they bring to the table, the more success they have. Having leaders who can train you in becoming a new person is a must.

Hi Maggie, It really is important to connect on the phone. Talking on the phone can build strong business relationships that trust your advice. Talking on the phone to qualified prospects builds a solid customer base that buys from month to month. Surly less work and very effective if done right. I know you’re an expert at that. Thanks for commenting Maggie!

I know, isn’t it funny how it works? When you go to a site that is all about what they’re selling don’t you click away? I know I do. Usually they have too much info on the page about a company which could not be a good fit for most. Thanks for the comment Emma!

  • http://ricksalasblog.com Rick Salas

Hi Lesly, the value he offers is pretty effective for anybody. Talking to more qualified people and spending less time doing everything else to market a business. I know some people who have build huge downlines in a few months using nothing but his system. Former newbies getting very successful people in their business from it.

    Great job Rick,

Im getting ready to teach a 4 week class. I will definitely point the students in your direction as to a GOOD example of a GREAT Blog providing valuable information.

    Keep up the good work!

    Rick,
You make some wonderful points talking about talking about yourself on your blog, even if it is for you business. When you look at things from the social sphere perspective, people care about exactly that “people”. Marketing yourself is a very important part of having a successful blog, and creating a following of engauged followers. To many times I see people have a great concept or business out there but have not social authority or a trustworthy reputation. Great article, I hope more people take to heart what you are saying here.

    Rick,
Great post. I agree, we have to share who we are, what our personality and interests are, in order to attract people into our lives for ALL purposes. I use the poker analogy with many of my clients (and in training new psychotherapists as well): we must ante up before we can expect our clients/customers to do so.
    Thanks again,
    Adam

  • http://ricksalasblog.com Rick Salas

So true Adam. I’m going to remember that one. “We have to ante up before we can expect our clients to do the same.” Thanks Adam!
    Rick

  • http://ricksalasblog.com Rick Salas

Hi Adam, thanks for the comment. It’s true what they say…people are not looking to buy anything. They want to find people they can trust and learn from to get the right answers to their needs and concerns.

  • http://ricksalasblog.com Rick Salas

Thanks Bill…let me know when your 4 week class starts. I’ll recommend you for sure. Should be a really valuable stuff for the right people.

    Hi Rick,

I agree with what you’re saying completely. Nicely done. People connect with us first and foremost as a person. It’s not until the “know, like and trust” you that they will buy from you. If you come off as too pushy, it’s very easy to close your browser or hit the back button. Don’t drive them away! Using your blog to reach out to people and let them know who you are and what your expertise

is will go a long way in creating that connection, when handled properly.
